On February 12, 2025, President Yoshimoto received a courtesy visit from Thailand’s Chiang Mai University (CMU) delegation led by Vice President Dr. Ekkachai Mahaek, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Dr. Pandin Onuchanum and the key faculty members in charge of the Joint Degree Program.
Since the conclusion of the KIT-CMU Academic Exchange Agreement in 2005, our partnership has consistently grown from its initial Joint Architecture Workshop. In 2017, KIT and CMU began Japan’s first master’s degree level joint doctoral degree program while fostering cooperation and collaboration among students and faculty members of our institutions.
At the meeting, both parties confirmed their eagerness to continue cooperating on joint degree program management. It was also confirmed that we would positively consider collaboration in other fields that make the most of our respective strengths, such as collaboration between medicine and engineering.
In the joint architecture workshop, organized as a part of the Joint Degree program, a professor and students from King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi also joined. This annual project came to successfully close.
